President Jeff Dennings rang the bell to open this morning’s meeting just as just as Joe Bushey was changing positions: He had volunteered to sell tickets for last week’s 50/50 winner, Floyd Olmstead, who showed up just as the ringing died down. He also volunteered to be the morning’s TailTwister until “Dr. Jack” Medemar returned to his familiar role. (I thnk he just likes collecting money!) Matt Mrasek led in the Pledge of Allegiance and Past President Jack Proffitt was asked to give “a word” of invocation but gave many more than that! John Losinski bought the Crown again (for $2.00!) and made the most of it, much coming from “Curmudgeon of the Day” Pete Venos.
As we had a “no-show” speaker this morning, the 17 members present made do with discussion of the nasty weather and past and upcoming events:
Phil Holmblade reported that the Club had generated a good amount of money (approximately $1200) for the coffers from enthusiastic and generous hockey fans at last Saturday’s game, selling 50/50 tickets (“more like 50/40/10”). Next Saturday (2-20-16) is another such event and more volunteers would be welcome.
